About the Project

This bespoke 550 RS Spyder is the consequence of combining great friendships with active imaginations, excessive technical talents, and a total lack of common sense that was often fueled by too many IPA’s. The genesis of this vision gained momentum during the challenging and unfulfilling quest to source a 550 kit car void of VW DNA.

The dream of the ultimate 550 turned into a nightmare multiple times over the course of the project, but after countless deep breaths, intermittent relentless perseverance, and no shortage of ADHD focus, we managed to create a zero-compromise Spyder project that has exceeded all expectations.

The initial conception of our prototype 550 RS Spyder was to combine one of the first great 2-seater, naturally aspirated, air-cooled Porsches (The 550 Spyder) with the last great 2-seater, naturally aspirated, air-cooled Porsche (The 993 RS Carrera). But form and function took precedence over theme and storyline, in the name of building the ultimate (and substantially safer) 550 driving experience.

This Spyder combines timeless Porsche design with modern-day Porsche technology. This is not a kit car nor a “Tribute” car, but a one-off prototype that pays homage to the classic Giant Killer. Every component of the car is either genuine Porsche or it was hand fabricated, shaped, or machined with a constant focus to implement Porsche styling cues that capture the true essence of the timeless and iconic 550 Spyder.
